Speaking Engagements

I am often times asked to speak to different groups about Leadership, Connection, Developing a Program and much more.  To take these opportunities and use them to improve our community is exciting! I Love Hawaii!  It is where I live, I work, and YES play!  The “Paying it Forward” concept Ho‘ea — The Foundation has adopted is brilliant.  It sums up so much in such a small phrase and I hope you will join me in “Paying it Forward”.

Speaker Request Process

Ho‘ea — The Foundation is honored that Coach Laura Beeman has made us a part of his team. Together we have established a process that aims to balance appropriate combinations of organizations and projects to benefit the community. This page explains the process which is designed to optimize the time spent by prospective organizations and foundation staff.  A process to address for-profit organizations is currently under review.

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to request Coach Laura Beeman as a speaker at your event, an organization must be invited by Coach Beeman to submit an application through the Foundation.

All applications, in order to be considered, must comply with rules governing student athletes.

Coach Beeman supports our process to cultivate and foster a culture of giving through “Paying it Forward.” Thus, applicants are requested to designate a “third party” project to which they could volunteer their time and talents. Ideally, the “third party” project would be conducted within three months of the speaking engagement. This “third party” must be recognized by the IRS as being described in Section 501(c)(3) and 509 (a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Suggested “Third Party” Organizations: Our own university lower campus athletic facilities and surroundings, YO! (Youth Outreach), Path Clinic, Hawaii Humane Society, Safe Haven.
